Said by one of my students:
“No, it’s not being stupid. Sometimes we aren’t careful and make mistakes.”
❤ ❤ Now I understand the lure some have to teaching. Having high school juniors wax so
philosophically, accurately and articulately occasionally must be worth it. Sigh.
It's refreshing and honestly mind-boggling when students who aren't necessarily academically
successful are earnestly nice, good to each other and are people you'd want to become friends.
At the same time, there are people who are intelligent, well-spoken, bright, and pretentious,
judgmental and (just downright mean). It's funny how the latter could be a turnoff
when you swore that intelligent well-spoken individuals with good ideas are the people you'd like to
be around all day. Funny how life constantly challenges your assumptions about the world and about
what yourself (and what you perceive will make you happy). People and situations can shock you.
And blow your mind if you let them.
